food allergies
Some food allergies cause rashes, hives, diarrhea or vomiting. Others are much more serious or even life-threatening, triggering a reaction known as anaphylaxis.
Food allergies are most commonly developed during infancy and toddlerhood, but they can develop later in life as well.
Most food allergies are caused by 8 foods: milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, wheat, soy, peanuts, and tree nuts.
Food allergies affect 4-6% of children and approximately 4% of adults.
